As continued growth and development of the whole electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the UK, filling stations are seen as an obvious place to provide charging facilities. However, it is recognised that difficult electrical, safety and logistical issues are linked to such installations.
This refreshed and updated 2nd Edition of the supplementary Code of Practice takes into account the updated IET 5th Edition of the Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, the 5th Edition APEA/EI “Blue Book” and updated technology and equipment used in EVSE. The work in producing this updated publication was led by APEA (the Association for Petroleum and Explosives Administration) who represent the major stakeholders in this sector. APEA and the IET are therefore now issuing this joint updated 2nd Edition publication to help provide the important guidance in this area.
