Dear Eastern Branch member

Further to our calling notice dated October. The next Eastern Branch meeting will be held at The Maltings, Ship Lane, Ely, Cambridgeshire, CB7 4BB. with a planned visit to Ely Cathedral. This is our Christmas event and always a popular one. We will have several interesting presentations with relevant topics of the day. You can of course always cancel at any time.

We do hope that you will be able to join us on the day and support the Branch as well as harvesting a great deal of useful information from the presentations for yourself and your organisation. Please make every effort to come and support the branch and update yourself on what is new in the industry as well as updating yourself on the current state of relevant standards and local regulations. The APEA is about knowledge sharing and our event is here to provide you with data important for your job, and a platform for discussion on issues of importance and relevance to our industry. The technical and regulatory side of the forecourt industry.

The cathedral has its origins in AD 672 when St Etheldreda built an abbey church. The present building dates back to 1083, and cathedral status was granted it in 1109. Until the reformation it was the Church of St Etheldreda and St Peter, at which point it was refounded as the Cathedral. People often ask why such a vast church was built in such  a small town. In fact the Cathedral came first. When it was built Ely was only a small settlement, the town grew up around the Cathedral. The Benedictine monks’ only concern was to glorify God, and nothing less than a building on a majestic scale would do.

It’s also a good time to network with fellow members, reflect on some of the issues as the year comes to a close and look forward to the challenges ahead. Where else can you get this level of information and quality of speakers not to mention the knowledge you gain for the benefit of yourself your business or organisation! The cost of attending is £35.00 whether for the whole or part of the day, this amount is subidised by branch capitation funds. Members from other branches are also most welcome or you may bring along a friend or colleagues. The amount goes towards meeting our costs for the event. For non-members £40.00 and includes the APEA Seminar coffee and light lunch. You may pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer (see details below).

As demand for this event will be high confirm your attendance by return to reserve your seat now.
